Most software that disappoints was built exactly as specified. The specification was the problem.
A feature list is a guess
When a business asks for "an app with login, a dashboard and reports", it is describing a guess at a solution. Behind that guess is something real: orders getting lost, customers waiting, a manager who cannot see what the team is doing.
If we build the guess, we might fix the real thing. Often we do not.
What we ask instead
- What is going wrong today, and what does it cost?
- Who feels it — customers, staff, or you?
- What would "fixed" look like in three months?
The answers usually change what gets built. Sometimes they make it smaller.
Why this matters to you
A smaller product that solves the actual problem ships sooner, costs less and is easier to grow. That is the outcome we are responsible for — not the line count.
